Naming Ceremonies
Infants & Children
A baby naming ceremony is a beautiful and inclusive way to welcome your child into your world and celebrate their arrival with family and friends. Unlike religious baptisms, a naming ceremony is entirely secular and can be customised to suit your personal style, culture and family values.
The ceremony can contain your own choice of elements, perhaps including the announcement of the child’s name and its personal significance, readings or poems from loved ones, and symbolic gestures like lighting a candle, planting a tree, or creating a keepsake for the child. Parents may choose to make promises or commitments, and close friends or family members might be invited to act as mentors or supporters in the child’s life.
